WhatsAble

How do notifications work in Whatsable?

The Whatsable notification bell: AI handoffs, new teammates, number and account status from Meta, template reviews, contact usage, webhook failures and failed payments. Choose what your team hears about, and get alerts on your device.

Whatsable tells your team when something needs attention: a customer the AI agent handed over, a template Meta rejected, a number that stopped sending, a payment that failed. Each notice says what happened and links to the page where you fix it.

The bell

The bell sits at the bottom of the sidebar. On a phone, open the Notifications tab in the bottom bar.

  • A number on the bell counts your unread notices.
  • Select a notice to open the page it is about. An AI handoff opens that conversation in the inbox. A template notice opens Templates. A number or account notice opens Business Numbers.
  • Select Mark all as read to clear the count. Select Load more to see older notices.
  • When the problem goes away, the notice shows Resolved. For example, a number that Meta blocks and later unblocks.
  • While Whatsable is open, a new notice also pops up for a moment, with an Open button.

Each person has their own list. Reading a notice marks it read for you, not for your teammates.

Turn a category on or off

Owners and Admins choose what the whole team hears about.

Open the settings

Go to Settings → Notification settings.

Flip the switches

Under What your team hears about, turn each category on or off. A change saves on its own.

These switches apply to everyone in the organization. A category that is off creates nothing for anyone. Turning it back on does not bring back the notices you missed.

Get alerts on this device

Whatsable can show your computer's own alert, with sound, when a notice arrives while Whatsable is open. It works even when the tab is hidden or the window is minimized.

Find the control

Open the bell. The control is at the bottom of the panel, under On this device. It is also on Notification settings.

Allow notifications

Select Turn on, then allow notifications when your browser asks.

Use the switch

After that, Notify me on this device turns the alerts on and off.

  • The setting is for this browser only. Each browser you use keeps its own.
  • If you blocked notifications earlier, the app says "Notifications are blocked in this browser". Allow notifications for Whatsable in your browser's site settings, then come back.
  • If your browser cannot show notifications, new notices still appear in the bell while Whatsable is open.

The browser tab

While Whatsable is open, the browser tab shows how many conversations are unread, such as "(3) Whatsable". When a new message arrives, the tab shows the sender's name and the start of the message for a few seconds.

How notifications work with other features

  • The AI agent. An AI handoff tells your team that a customer needs a person. See AI chatbots.
  • Templates. A template notice links to Templates, where you see Meta's reason and submit again. See message templates.
  • Webhooks. A failing or turned-off webhook links to Webhooks. See outgoing webhooks.
  • Plans and seats. Usage and payment notices link to Billing. See plans and team seats.

FAQ

Can a Member change the notification settings?

No. Only owners and Admins can open Notification settings. Each person can still turn alerts on this device on or off for themselves.

I turned off a category. Will the old notices disappear?

No. Notices already in the list stay. The switch stops new ones.
