Business numbers
Connect and manage your WhatsApp numbers in Whatsable: how many numbers each plan includes, adding extra numbers for $13 a month, the primary number, pausing, unlinking, and what Meta reports about each number.
Business Numbers lists every WhatsApp number your organization has connected. From there you connect new numbers, see how many numbers your plan includes, and read what Meta reports about each number. Open it from Settings → Business Numbers. Owners and admins can open it.
Connect a number
Select Connect WhatsApp. Meta's signup opens in a popup and hands the number and its WhatsApp Business Account to Whatsable. Your templates come across in the same step. You can keep using the WhatsApp Business app on your phone with the same number.
- Step by step: Embedding Process.
- Keeping the WhatsApp Business app (Coexistence): Connect WhatsApp Business to Whatsable.
Connecting a number never charges you. If the new number is above what your plan includes, see Numbers over your plan below.
What the list shows
Numbers are grouped by WhatsApp Business Account. Each row shows:
- Status: Active, Paused, Unlinked, Awaiting registration (select Retry registration if it stays there), or Disconnected on the phone.
- Meta reports: what Meta last said about the number. See What Meta reports.
- History: for a number you keep in the WhatsApp Business app, the import of your existing chats. If an import stopped, select Try again.
How many numbers your plan includes
| Plan | Numbers included | Extra numbers |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 2 | Choose a plan to add more |
| Bulk Message | 1 | $13 a month each, no limit |
| Pro | 3 | $13 a month each, no limit |
| Agency | 100 | None. Agency stops at 100 numbers |
The top of the page shows how many numbers you use, for example "1 of 3 numbers included", and any extra numbers you pay for. On Agency, unlink a number to make room for another. Plan prices are on Plans: Bulk Message, Pro and Agency.
Numbers over your plan
A number above what your plan includes shows the Over plan chip.
- It still receives messages, and its conversations stay in the inbox.
- It cannot send until you add it to your plan. That stops replies, templates, broadcasts, AI agent replies, follow-ups and outgoing webhooks for that number.
- People who write only to an over-plan number do not count toward your monthly contact limit.
Which numbers stay inside the plan: the Primary number first, then the numbers connected longest ago. To keep a different number inside the plan, make it primary.
Add numbers to your plan
On Bulk Message and Pro, the owner selects Add to plan. The dialog shows the cost before you confirm. It adds every number over the plan at once, at $13 a month each.
- On a paid plan, the charge is prorated: you pay only for the rest of the current billing period. The dialog says whether it goes on the card on file today or on your next invoice.
- During a trial, nothing is charged. The extra numbers start with your first invoice.
Admins and members see that the owner can add the number to the plan. When you unlink a number, Whatsable lowers the count of extra numbers you pay for to match. More on billing: Billing.
The primary number
One number carries the Primary badge. Whatsable preselects it wherever you pick a number, and it is the first number to keep its place in your plan. To change it, open the menu of another active number and select Make primary.
While you have other connected numbers, the primary number cannot be paused or unlinked. Make another number primary first.
Pause, unlink or delete a number
Open the menu at the end of a row.
- Pause stops sending from the number. Its conversations become read-only until you select Resume. A paused number still counts toward your plan.
- Unlink stops sending and receiving on the number. Its history stays. If it is the last active number of its WhatsApp Business Account, unlinking disconnects that account from Whatsable and releases it at Meta, so you can connect it to a different provider. An unlinked number no longer counts toward your plan.
- Delete appears only for an unlinked number with no messages and no broadcasts. It cannot be undone.
What Meta reports
Meta decides whether a number can send. The Meta reports column shows Meta's last answer and when it was checked:
- Available: Meta named no account-level problem at the moment of the check. A single message can still fail.
- Limited: sending works, with a restriction. Many accounts stay here for a long time, for example until business verification is complete.
- Blocked: Meta blocks conversations your business starts, such as a template to someone who has not written in the last 24 hours. Replies to people who wrote in the last 24 hours usually still go out.
- Not checked: Meta has not answered for this number yet. This is not the same as Available.
Select Check what Meta reports in the row menu to open What Meta reports. It lists each part Meta checks (the WhatsApp Business Account, the business portfolio, the Whatsable app and the phone number), the reason Meta gives, Meta's suggested fix, and who has to act. A problem on the WhatsApp Business Account or the business portfolio is fixed in Meta Business Manager by its owner, which is often your client rather than you. A problem on the Whatsable app is ours: give support the code shown. Select Check again for a fresh answer. Meta answers at most once a minute.
The answer describes the account at the moment of the check. It does not promise that the next message goes out. The notifications bell tells you when Meta blocks or unblocks a number, or when a number is disconnected. See Notifications.
Embedding Process
Connect your WhatsApp Business Account to WhatsAble with Meta's Embedded Signup. Meta WhatsApp Coexistence is supported, so you can keep the WhatsApp Business app on your phone.
