Connect Claude Code
Add WhatsAble to Claude Code with one command, sign in from the terminal, and let Claude Code read and send your WhatsApp messages.
On WhatsAble, you need to be an owner or an admin, on a plan that includes the API. See What you need.
Add the server
Add it
In your terminal, run:
claude mcp add --transport http whatsable https://api.whatsable.app/mcpThis adds WhatsAble to the current project only. Add --scope user to use it in every project.
Start claude, run /mcp, choose whatsable and then authenticate. Or run this from your shell:
claude mcp login whatsableYour browser opens WhatsAble. Sign in, choose the organization, choose what Claude Code can do and which numbers it can use, then Approve. Access and connections shows each page.
Check it
claude mcp listWhatsAble shows as connected. Then ask Claude Code "What can you do with WhatsAble?".
Use an API key instead
On a machine without a browser, send an API key instead of signing in. Create a key in WhatsAble under Settings > API keys, then run:
claude mcp add --transport http whatsable https://api.whatsable.app/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer nfy_live_..."The key's own access and numbers apply. Never use --scope project with a key: that scope writes the server into .mcp.json, which you share with your repository.
Share it with your team
--scope project writes the server to .mcp.json in your project, so everyone who opens the project gets WhatsAble. Each person then signs in with their own WhatsAble account.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope project whatsable https://api.whatsable.app/mcpRemove it
claude mcp remove whatsableThis deletes the sign-in from Claude Code. To revoke the connection, also go to Settings > API keys > Connected AI apps in WhatsAble and choose Revoke. See Revoke a connection.
